The next version of Android has been revealed by Google, which means we're starting to get questions regarding the Samsung Galaxy Android 13 update.

Samsung is still concentrating on pushing Android 12 and One UI 4.x upgrades to Galaxy phones and tablets, but that will change later this year when Android 13 and One UI 5 are released.

Although the firm is significantly more open about software these days, it will take months for it to reveal precise intentions for Android 13.

Although Samsung is now silent, we can piece together an early Samsung Galaxy Android 13 roadmap based on confirmed information, rumours, and precedent.

As we get closer to the likely delivery of Samsung's Android 13 update with One UI 5, this roadmap will help you establish realistic expectations.

If you possess or plan to acquire a Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Tab S8, or another Samsung device, you should be aware of Android 13.

As we approach 2022, we'll go through what we know about Android 13's features, the Samsung Android 13 release date, the Android 13 beta, and everything else Samsung owners should know.

Let's start with the software that's being released ahead of the Android 13 updates from Samsung.
Some are based on Android 11 while others are based on Android 12.
Samsung's One UI will be updated in some of these editions.

Samsung announced plans to keep certain Galaxy phones and tablets updated with key Android versions and security patches for up to five years in early 2022.

While some devices may not be upgraded to Android 13, they will continue to get regular, if not sporadic, security upgrades until 2022 and beyond.

Samsung claims that "security updates may vary by device and market," and that its security update models are subject to change and will be examined regularly.

The company is reportedly working on a new One UI 4.1.1 update and it should arrive later this year in and around the time the company launches new foldable devices.

Samsung Galaxy Android 13: What’s New

Because it will use Samsung's One UI, Samsung's version of Android 13 will differ from the version Google provides for Pixel devices.

We haven't seen any concrete details yet, but Samsung is expected to release One UI 5 alongside Android 13 later this year.

Samsung's One UI updates often include design changes, current feature refinements, and new features for both newer and older devices.

We don't yet know anything regarding Samsung's Android 13 version.
However, we do know a lot about Google's ambitions for Android 13, and many of these features will likely make their way into Samsung's version of Android 13 for Galaxy smartphones.

During the beta process, Google may add or remove features, thus the final version of Android 13 may differ from the version that developers and beta testers are using right now.

These Galaxy Devices Will Get Android 13

For the past two years, Samsung has kept Galaxy phones and tablets up to date with key Android software updates.
Thankfully, the corporation has realised its error and modified its policy.

The company has stated that it will provide four years of major software upgrades to certain devices in the future.
This is certainly a significant advancement because it implies Galaxy users will be able to keep their gadgets for much longer.

The Galaxy devices that will receive four years of new Android/One UI versions and five years of security upgrades are as follows:

  • Galaxy S Series: Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE and upcoming S series devices.
  • Galaxy Z Series: Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and upcoming Z series devices.
  • Galaxy A Series: upcoming select A series devices.
  • Galaxy Tablets: Galaxy Tab S8Galaxy Tab S8+, Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and upcoming Tab S series devices.

If your smartphone appears on this list, you'll almost certainly be getting Android 13 with One UI 5.
Unless you have an extremely ancient phone or tablet, there's no need to be concerned right now.

Newer devices, such as the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite, should receive Android 13, although the rest of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series may remain on Android 12.

If your device isn't listed above and you've previously received three major Android software updates, you're in danger of losing out on Android 13 and One UI 5.

Owners of earlier Samsung models may be surprised, but we'd temper our expectations for the time being.

Samsung Galaxy Android 13 Beta

Google's Android 13 beta is now available for Pixel devices.
Samsung, predictably, is not participating, and we expect the business to operate its testing programme separate from Google's.

Samsung used to limit its Galaxy Beta programme to flagship models, but in recent years, the company has expanded it to include mid-range phones.

While we don't know exactly how the Galaxy Android 13 beta process will work, the Galaxy S22 series and a few more smartphones are expected to participate.

Samsung's Android betas are usually only available in a few locations.
Large markets, such as the United States, are always included on the list, but smaller markets are frequently excluded.

Fortunately, it appears that Samsung's beta programme will begin much sooner than normal.
SamMobile announced in April that the Android 13/One UI 5 beta would be pushed to Galaxy users in the following three to four months.

Obviously, things might change, so this isn't a guarantee, but it's still an exciting idea.

Samsung Galaxy Android 13 Release Date

When will Samsung release the first stable version of Android 13?
Let's begin with what we already know.

After July, Google claims the final version of Android 13 will be available for Pixel phones.
Samsung won't release Android 13 before Google, so we'll have to wait until late summer or early fall to see it.

If Samsung manages to get its beta programme up and running this summer, the formal release could arrive months ahead of schedule.
Around the end of the year, Samsung usually launches new Android operating systems.

Samsung has accelerated its Android rollout from 2021to 2022, so Android 13 could arrive even sooner than Android 12.

While many Galaxy models will receive Android 13 and One UI 5 in the second half of 2022, others will have to wait until 2023.
